    Abominable woman !
We had some friends of ours on You are What you Eat – they didn’t take it too seriously. At one point she asked him, do you ever eat blueberries, and his response was “yeah, in a muffin”

Mingey help me out here. Twitter has completely passed me by, and I can’t see the point of it. What do you get out of it ? And how addictive is it / how much of your time does it take up ?

Twitter is fantastic. Facebook is too much like hard work, but Twitter is just microblogging made easy really.

If you install a client (I use Twitterrific on my Macs and iPhone) then it’s a great way of keeping in touch with people and keeping up to date with what’s trending, what people are looking at, news etc.

The 140 char limit really keeps things concise, although like anything if you get too obsessed with it, I don’t doubt it can suck up all your time.

One of the things I’m trying to get integrated on the new, ever-improving Peeque interface is a Twitter feed. Coming real soon. Maybe.

Oh, and the other thing is that because it’s public, you can easily block nutters if you need to etc. then “famous” people seem quite relaxed about chatting to plebs.

Double bubble, do you twitter ?

  5. Double Bubble says:

Nope, don’t and won’t. Don’t wish to offend the twitterati but I dont care whats trending, don’t care what others are thinking and dont want to share my own thoughts in such a fashion.

Not for me, but I can see the vale.

DB is too busy watching Big Brother to worry about what’s happening in the real world.

    ;-)

Twitter does sound like it could be quite interesting but expect it would be quite addictive. I say this as somebody who hasn’t used a blackberry for 3 years because I found it was taking over. So I will pass for now, but not be quite so dismissive of others who are using it.

Really double bubble, are you really watching big brother ? I thought pretty much everyone had given up on it several years ago. The last one I watched any of was won by a Portugese ladyboy. Still it’s always a good threat to Third Auntie – “you carry on complaining like that and I’m going to start watching this series of big brother” – it drove her nuts the last time I watched one.

Seems it doesn’t take much to get a rise from a twitterer, or should that just be twit?

I don’t watch BB, but can it really be any more banal than an argument between a journalist and a tv presenter in 140 character chunks? If that’s the “real world” then I’ll keep calm and carry on in my own little bubble.

  9. Ming The Merciless says:

You would be amazed how much you can actually cram into 140 characters of text when you really try. And how little in a lot more than that.

  10. Ming The Merciless says:

I’m a bit disappointed that no-one spotted how clever that last post was.

    I’ll fetch me coat.

  11. Geek-Boy says:

We’re not all sad enough to sit and count if your post is less than or equal to 140 characters…

sailed way over my head that one
