World Cup Predictions!!

I was hoping to be the first one to post about the WC but Double Bubble seems to have beaten me. My post isn’t about betting though.

So what are your predictions for the World Cup? Who will win the Group Stages? Who will win outright? Who will be the surprise package?

    My predictions are :-

    Group A Winner – Mexico
    Group B Winner – Argentina
    Group C Winner – England
    Group D Winner – Australia
    Group E Winner – Netherlands
    Group F Winner – Paraguay
    Group G Winner – Portugal
    Group H Winner – Spain

I think in the group stages there will be a few shocks, I think that Brazil, Germany, France and Italy will all go out in the first round.

I then think that Argentina will probably win the whole thing.

Sergio Agüero will be the tournament top scorer.

    Messi will win Best Player.

James Milner will be Englands star player, getting a permanent role on the left side of midfield.

Rooney will be sent off at some point in the tournament.

I make this prediction for every international tournament, but sooner or later I’ll be right …

    Spain to win.

Can’t see beyond brazil winning it. I’ve got them beating Spain in the final

Luis Fabiano will be the tournament top scorer.

I’ve got England going out to Germany in a penalty shootout in the last 16

So you think Fabiano is finally going to be able to perform on the big stage…interesting. I’m not sure that Brazil are defensively sound enough to make it through what is a very difficult group with two of the best attacking teams in the world (Portugal and Ivory Coast), only time will tell.

Not seen anything in the first round to convince me that Brazil aren’t going to win it. They are very solid indeed defensively, a tight knit unit as a team and have a lot of options going forward. the way they dispatched Ivory Coast last night was very impressive.

The reason I put bets on Fabiano and Higuain getting the most goals, is because I believe they’ll be amonst the teams who play the most games. Fabiano as the sole attacker, and the man they look for in the penalty box is a very important player for Brazil. He’s made a good start – hope he puts a few more away against Portugal.
